Porumbelul din sanatoriul de munte

Un bulgăre de sare strălucitor,
un aer argintiu –
consumul zilnic –
câteva grame şi nimic mai mult.
Cum străluceşte sarea ?
Cine poate spune ?
Vântul a şters pereţii
şi ferestrele muntelui.
Saloanele de la subsol sunt goale acum.
Cel care a plecat ultimul
a lăsat muntele deschis.

The dove from the mountain sanatorium

A shining salt block,
a silvery air –
a daily consumption –
a few gramms portion.
How does the salt shine ?
Who can tells it ?
The wind wiped the walls
and the windows of the mountain.
The sanatorium ward
under the mountain are empty now.
The last patient left the mountain open.
He got in the first train
and paid his travel with a salt block.
The ticket collector said nothing.
He clipped the salt block
and it became a handful of salt.
He kept it a time in his hand
and at the first bridge he dropped it,
through the open window,
as a white bird, of salt.
